Evan John Roberts (1878–1951): A Life Dedicated to Revival

Evan John Roberts (1878–1951) was a Welsh evangelist whose name became synonymous with the Welsh Revival of 1904–1905, one of the most significant spiritual awakenings in modern Christian history. Though his public ministry was relatively brief, God used him to ignite a revival that transformed lives, churches, and communities across Wales and influenced revival movements around the world.

From a young age, Roberts had a deep hunger for God. He spent many hours in prayer, seeking a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. His earnest desire was not for personal recognition but to see people come to know Jesus Christ and experience genuine spiritual renewal.

In 1904, while attending meetings and praying faithfully, Roberts experienced a profound spiritual encounter that led him to preach with extraordinary passion and conviction.
