Early Life
Lillian B. Yeomans was born in 1861 in Ontario, Canada. She trained as a medical doctor at a time when very few women entered the medical profession. She practiced medicine successfully for several years.
A Remarkable Testimony
While working as a physician, Dr. Yeomans developed an addiction to morphine after using it for pain relief. The addiction became severe, and despite her medical knowledge, she could not free herself.
