William J. Seymour: A Life Dedicated to God's Work. (1870–1922)

William Joseph Seymour  was an American preacher and one of the most influential leaders in the history of the global Pentecostal movement. He is best known for leading the Azusa Street Revival in Los Angeles, California, beginning in 1906, a revival that helped spread Pentecostal Christianity around the world.

Born in Centerville, Louisiana, to parents who had been enslaved, Seymour grew up during a time of poverty and racial discrimination. Despite these hardships, he developed a deep love for God's Word and answered the call to preach the Gospel. Before beginning his ministry, he studied under Charles F. Parham, where he embraced Pentecostal teaching on the work of the Holy Spirit.

In 1906, Seymour travelled to Los Angeles to preach. Although he initially faced rejection, he continued faithfully, and prayer meetings soon led to a powerful spiritual awakening.
